Day Thirty One: Relaxation

Published on October 9, 2025 at 10:04 PM

I may have woken up at 7:45am but I have been able to have a nice relaxing day all day today. I feel like I earned it because I have been doing some really great things, keeping promises to myself, achieving goals and all that.
I am fully prepped and planned for my November writing challenge. Which is to finish my first draft of Cinder and Ash which I assume will be around 30k words. I broke that down into only 50 1 hour sessions over 26 days that I have to dedicate to writing next month. That's basically two sessions most days and I'll give myself a half an hour break so two and a half hours every day. That's easy peasy.
I mean I think all those numbers are right. I'm doing this based off of some math that I am estimating and haven't fully tracked yet. If I front load this challenge, when all the thoughts and motivation is flowing, then I'll be done sooner than expected.
This is the biggest writing challenge I've ever done but I have been sticking well to my small goals and I feel great about under taking something like this.
I also realized that I know NOTHING about the steps after the first drafts. I've finished one first draft before but I'm saving that story for later. Then I decided to start N for Not Human and now I'm just about at 50k in my first draft of that.
So that will be what I use Cinder and Ash for too. Figuring out how I go from first draft to final draft, editing, formatting and how to self published. I don't mind that being my debut novel being that one. Especially since it's rare for people to break out and get famous on their first novel anyways. So I'll use this to figure shit out so that I can know what to do what N for Not Human is finished.
