Day 213: A Very Exciting Day

I got my first tattoo today!!

There was a charity event that was giving all of their proceeds to sexual violence awareness. You could get up to three three inch tattoos from one of their premade stencils, line for $60 and colored for $80. I decided to do a lily (my favorite flower and my birth month flower) on my left thigh near my knee. I went with my sister who also got a tattoo, a beautiful butterfly and moon one on her left arm and my brother in law took us, but he was just moral support.

I love the tattoo and the pain wasn't that bad really. There were a couple of times where the pain got to me a little but it was during really long strokes or when she was filling in the stem. She said I sat like a champ especially when she was filling it in because she was doing that with a liner needle. I really liked the shop and all of the people there and the fact that it was all for a charity that means a lot to me really made it all worthwhile. And now I have my first tattoo and I would totally get more. This one was amazingly fast, like literally fifteen minutes.

I found my hard drive which I was really starting to freak out about losing but it showed up in a box I swear I already ripped apart... But oh well, at least I have it AND it has the finished first draft of The Things That Haunt Me. It's a little weird to read it because I feel like I've had a major upgrade to the way I write in between then and now. I did write it two almost three years ago, that might have something to do with it. I also just wanted to get it done, get through all those traumatic times as fast as I could and I didn't care how sloppy it was. Now I have to edit that mess. But I'm gonna serialize it and put it up on Substack that will be fun.

I printed and cut a bunch of time blocking stickers that I created for my time blocking notebook and I'm excited to use them tomorrow. I think I'm going to try and schedule my day in the morning and see if I can set that up. I don't know if I want to do that or just use it to track my time usage throughout the day. We'll see what I feel like doing tomorrow.
