Day 204: Good Day

Published on April 4, 2026 at 2:13 AM

Today was good, mostly calm, no real craziness or drama.

I got up at a good time and tended to my plants and took my dogs out, which has become a welcome part of my daily routine. My plants are doing great, there are a ton of tomatoes and peas that have sprouted so I guess the strongest really will survive. I can't wait to get my garden bed~

I did a bunch of administrative kind of tasks today, calling people, emailing, scheduling, and even a virtual doctor's appointment.

My eldest nieces came over for a few hours and then I walked up to my sister's house and hung out for an hour up there. It's so nice being so close and being able to walk back and forth whenever I want. I got bored so I headed up there and hung out until I noticed my son was falling asleep on the couch so I came back home. And it was all that simple, ya know?

This is the closest we have lived together without living under the same roof. The closest before was an hour and at most we lived 3 hours apart when we were in the same state. At other times we lived across the country from each other. So this feels amazing.

Tomorrow we are taking the kids up to the pool to swim for a few hours before I do more errands and house chores. Speaking of house stuff, I did some more painting today and took more shit off the walls. There were like five different curtain hangers up at one window and I managed to get all of those off and they also put a TON of tacky looking stickers up and then in the living room they PAINTED OVER THE STICKERS. So all of them were like glues to the walls, OH and there was also like glitter glue put all over the walls? It's so weird but I'm gonna paint. I'll keep painting and renovating the house until it looks as good as I know it can.

I love my yard except there is one plant out there that is making my life hard because it has these sticky burs and they keep getting ALL OVER MY PUPPIES every time I take them walking. UGH. I would rip them out of the ground if I could identify which ones were the culprits. I think it has to be in my side yard, possibly the really pretty flowers that I like, but it does look like it could be them. I hope not, I'll have to take a look tomorrow, without the doggies to see if I can find it.

Oh, speaking of the dogs going outside, Evie went pee outside for the first time today! She has been having a really hard time potty training for the longest time. It was such a great step today for her and I can't wait for her to keep going outside. Soon I won't have to clean my floors multiple times every day.

Now I have to figure out my dryer because it's making a little bit of a weird smell when I run it but I'm only running it for like thirty seconds at a time. I'm scared of the smell and don't want to set my house on fire or something. My brother in law has a dryer vent cleaner that he's gonna bring down to my house and let me use and hopefully that's what is making the smell cuz I really have to do laundry.

Little by little, day by day, things are getting better in my life and my house is going to keep getting better. I can't wait until Monday because that is the day we will get our fridge and oven and I'll have a usable kitchen again. Thank the Gods because this little chapter of my life is getting old. I need some good home cooked, fresh and delicious food. No more frozen meals, canned things, pantry snacks and room temperature drinks.

Alright time for me to keep crocheting my blanket so that I can get all wound down for sleep. I can't wait for my day tomorrow and to keep up working and doing my things.
